I) Removing or tampering with the Defcon 5 sticker at the
bottom of your console or opening the console will warrant any guarantee null and void. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
II) Defcon 5 will always inform it's customers of the following:
a) v3, v4 and PS2 consoles with lens problems will not read all DVD9, DVDr and bad quality pressed disks regardless of the chip that is in the console.
b) Not all T.V sets are compatible with the NTSC video format.
c) All consoles will be tested before commencing any installations.
d) On completion of these specific tests, customers may be advised not to do the modification.
e) In the event of a customer wanting to have the modification done, even though he/she was informed that the console will not perform as desired, Defcon 5 will still honour the guarantee as prescribed, but will NOT remove the mod-chip for a refund.
III) Defcon 5 will guarantee and replace, reprogram or repair faulty mod-chips for a period of two (2) years from the date of installation.
IV) If the faulty mod-chip needs to be replaced, it will be replaced with the same, or if not available, a mod-chip with equivalent functions and quality.
V) If in the opinion of an authorised Defcon 5 technician, the console was damaged due to a faulty chip or faulty installation, Defcon 5 will repair or replace the faulty console at no charge.
VI) In the event of the console becoming obsolete due to wear and tear, lightning damage, physical damage or any other reason, defcon 5 will at the request of the customer remove the chip and reinstall it into a new console at a minimum charge of R200.00 or a maximum charge of R300.00 depending on the difficulty of the installation. This service only applies to Defcon 5 installations, provided that the chip is not damaged and it's compatible with the new console.
VII) Defcon 5 can and will not guarantee or replace laser lenses damaged due to bad quality disks being played on the console. Bad quality disks meaning certain "Pirated Movies", "DVDrw" (re-writable DVD disks) or cheap "DVDr" (writable DVD) disks. If you want to use DVDr disks please use Ri-data or Verbatim (+ or - R) only. Bad quality disks will damage your console's laser.. Also note that DVD9 (dual layer disks) may cause problems on older v3 & v4 (SCPH30004) consoles. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
VIII) v9 and v10 (SCPH50004) consoles give a lot of problems with DVDrw (re-writable disks) for the sake of your console's laser please do not use DVDrw disks.
IX) Please note that there is always the possibility of an original Playstation 1 or 2 game detecting the mod-chip. Defcon 5 will do it's best to inform all it's customers of such titles, but since they are not always known to us we can not guarantee this service.
X) Flashing or upgarding a flash upgradable mod chip like the Matrix infinity or Crystal chip yourself will not void your guarantee, but chips damaged due to bad or corrupt flashes will not be covered under this guarantee.
XI) Please note that for online gaming a mod-chip than can be deactivated is advised. It is possible for Sony's servers to detect a console with a mod chip and permanently ban such a console.

VI) Please note that all consoles will read 95% of the same disks, but some might struggle more than others with certain types of disk. This is not a valid reason for laser replacement.
VII) This guarantee will be null and void if:
a) DVDrw (re-writable DVD) movies or games are being played on the console.
b) any DVDr (Writable DVD) disks other than Ri-Data or Verbatim is used
